The 2015 South Suburban Race Series includes a brand new event that supports
South Suburban’s STAR Program for people with disabilities. It’s the Super STAR 2 mile fun run. The event is for runners and athletes of all abilities with an accessible course.
The fun run will take place at South Suburban’s Progress Park on Sunday, September 13, at 9 am. The early registration fee is $25 for ages 15+; $15 for those 14 and younger, and $30/$20 after Aug. 28.
Proceeds will benefit the STAR (South Suburban’s Therapeutic Adaptive Recreation) Program, which serves adults with disabilities. Several hundred adults participate in the STAR program enjoying a variety of activities including basketball, kickball, bowling, gym games, fitness classes, music therapy, outdoor recreation, aquatics, dances, trips and more.
Be creative and dress up as your favorite Super STAR, celebrity or super hero for a chance to win the Best Costume award.
All event participants will receive a race shirt and are eligible for prizes donated by South Suburban and local businesses.
