Trails and Trees Program

Trails & Trees Program
Paths to the Future

Come celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the 10,000 Trees Project and the opening of the Mary Carter Greenway East Bank Trail. Volunteers are invited to help plant more than 200 trees along the Mary Carter Greenway in the morning and join the afternoon ribbon cutting ceremony for the Mary Carter Greenway East Bank Trail. See Aerial Photo of Trail & Dedication site.

Minimum age requirement is 10 years old and all minors must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for signing their waiver. Volunteers will receive a complimentary t-shirt and lunch. Please wear long pants, closed shoes (boots preferred), gloves and bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and rain gear in case of inclement weather. If you have a shovel, you are welcome to bring it, but please label so you can find it at the end of the day.

Lunch and trail dedication will take place at the confluence of the Big Dry Creek and the Mary Carter Greenway East Bank Trail. The easiest way to access the area is to turn south off of Union (just east of the Platte River) onto Wyandot and proceed to the new trailhead.
