Safe Return to the Ice Arenas

Under the Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Tri County Health Department (TCDH) amended 'Safer at Home Dial' Public Health Order (20-36 COVID-19 Dial) Level Yellow mandate, the Family Sports Center has implemented the following protocol effective Monday, February 15:

  • All adult, high school and youth hockey games are underway with limited spectators.
  • All Public Skate sessions & 'Take A Shot' sessions are by mandatory online reservations.
  • No private ice will be sold while the Level Yellow is in place.
  • Two spectators per skater. Spectators must be masked and may assist with skates, but must view the session from designated bleachers. Spectators may return to the ice when their child's ice session is concluded.
  • All locker rooms will be available with limited capacity. Socially distanced chairs will be made available throughout the ice arena for players to dress and for parents to help their younger players dress.
  • Reservations are required for all services. No walk-in patrons.
  • On ice activities are limited to 25 skaters + coaching staff.
  • Mask are required to be properly worn.
  • Avalanche Grill is open at 25% capacity for indoor and patio seating. Hours 10 am - 11 pm, no reservations.
  • All dry land training must take place outside or in designated areas only.
  • Birthday Parties and Entertainment activities are available by reservation only.

Family Sports Ice Arena

Whether you're an ice skater, a hockey player, learning how to skate, or just looking to glide on the ice, the Family Sports Ice Arena is the place for you.

Oh, and did we mention, it’s the practice facility for the Colorado Avalanche? So fans, stop on by to watch them get ready for the next game. You might even get a signature or two.

And once you’ve built up an appetite, hit the concessions or eat at our full service restaurant and bar that overlooks the Avs’ practice sheet.

All Public Skate sessions are by mandatory online reservations.

Enjoy the freedom of ice open for you to practice, spend time with friends, or just glide. Children under 3 years old skate for free (does not include skate rental).
