South Suburban Board Chair Susan Pye Resigns

Apr 18 2024

Susan Pye resigned her position on the South Suburban Board of Directors, effective April 17, 2024. She was elected to the board in May 2018 and was most recently named board chair in 2020.

“I’m so proud of what we accomplished during my time here,” said Pye. “I am honored to be part of a board that took pride in serving the community, whether it was local park improvements or large facility openings. It was a hard decision to resign before the end of my term, but I need to step away and focus on my health.”

South Suburban experienced tremendous growth during Pye’s tenure. She supported the renovation of three outdoor pools, the opening of the South Suburban Sports Complex and the completion of 2022 Master Plan Update.

“I applaud Susan’s commitment to South Suburban over the last seven years,” said Executive Director Rob Hanna. “She’s been an important member of the board that has led the organization through major changes, while always prioritizing the best interests of our community.”

Pye, a long-time Centennial resident, also served as the chair of the city’s Senior Commission, volunteered for Project Cure and Developmental Pathways, and served as an advisor for Centennial’s Youth Commission.
