Each month, the South Suburban Public Art Committee selects three local artists to display their work at three recreation centers and selects one artist quarterly for an exhibit at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Art displays at these facilities are intended to support and promote South Suburban's mission to enrich the lives of all its residents and encourage a legacy of art to be enjoyed and appreciated.

These temporary art exhibits are also a chance to showcase local artists. The artists exhibiting in August are:

Name: Arturo Garcia
Residence: Lakewood
Medium: Painting
Collection: Arturo calls his colorful display of oil paintings TATANKA: The Spirit of the Land, an exhibit about the life of the American bison, its habitat, history and culture. Read more about it on Arturo’s website.

Name: Bill Utter
Residence: Centennial
Medium: Photography
Collection: Bill's exhibit,Colorado Wilds, features Colorado wildlife and landscapes in framed digital photographs. Samples of the photographs include the Rocky Mountain big horn sheep, sand hill cranes, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Name: Lenna Kay
Residence: Littleton
Medium: Metal Arts
Collection: Lenna Kay's art display features a variety of subject matter painted on tiles. The tiles are then coated with liquid metal to produce an Old World-art appearance.

Name: Front Range Photography Group
Residence: Denver metro area
Medium: Photography
Collection The Front Range Photography Group is a group of amateur photographers that photographs and displays around metro Denver. This exhibit will show wildlife-themed photographs.
