Website Accessibility Policy

South Suburban Park and Recreation District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements, and channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, South Suburban Park and Recreation District has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 level AA) and commercial screen reading software. South Suburban is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA.  Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Compliance Officer

South Suburban Park and Recreation District has designated Mike MacLennan, IT Director as its compliance officer for website disability-related accommodations. In addition to annual testing with users with a wide range of disabilities and coding our website to WCAG standards, South Suburban Park and Recreation District regularly scans its website to ensure ongoing compliance and to make timely changes to any inaccessible items, if any are found.
