Calling all green thumbs! South Suburban is seeking gardeners of all experience levels to join us for our Annual Rose Pruning Workshop at the War Memorial Rose Garden on April 25. The workshop is a great way to make friends and give back to your community while learning and practicing rose pruning techniques. The event is free, but registration is required.
Historically low snowpack has led Denver Water and others to declare a Stage 1 drought or impose restrictions on their customers. In response, South Suburban is working closely with Denver Water and other water purveyors to cut water usage by 20% across the District this summer. Reduction of water usage aligns with South Suburban’s guiding principle of being stewards of nature and sustainability.
Beginning May 4, South Suburban will implement a new No Show and Short Show policy for golf courses at Family Sports, Littleton, Lone Tree, and South Suburban.

South Suburban’s Manager of Adult and Youth Hockey, Amidon Miche, was honored with the Trailblazer Award at the 52nd Annual Sportswomen of Colorado Awards Celebration on March 8. The celebration honors girls and women in sport and the key contributors whose leadership, impact, and athletic achievements have advanced women’s athletics across Colorado and beyond.
In 2023, major improvements were identified for Cornerstone Park that would take place over several years. Last year, Phase I was completed that included construction to the northeast parking lots, accessible sidewalk connections, and landscaping.
