South Suburban Park and Recreation District maintains parks, trails, recreation facilities, open spaces, golf facilities, and other community assets that contribute to residents’ quality of life. As facilities and infrastructure age and community needs evolve, South Suburban is looking to evaluate future capital investment priorities through a process that is transparent, community-driven, and financially responsible.
The public is invited to apply to be on one of the Bond Exploratory Subcommittees. Members will review the Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan, consider community feedback, assess project needs, review potential funding options, and submit recommendations to the Board of Directors in the areas of recreation, parks and trails, and golf. All members will be appointed by the Board of Directors. Staff liaisons will provide support, facility tours, background information and relevant analysis.
Applicants must live or own property within the District and commit to monthly meetings, approximately 2-4 hours per month.
