Tacos, Tequila & Traditions

Sept. 11

Hudson Gardens & Event Center

Enjoy a festive outdoor evening in the Gardens with delicious food from local chefs and restaurants, live music, and vibrant performances by Ballet Folklórico Patria Mexicana. Guests can also enjoy interactive activities, including a Create-Your-Own Taco Seasoning Station and a Margarita Salt Bar. Learn more and purchase tickets.

 

Sheridan Family Fun Night

Sept. 18

Sheridan Recreation Center

Family Fun Nights at Sheridan Rec Center are free, open to the public, and packed with fun for all ages! In September, families will collaborate on a public art mural guided by Arts staff, contributing to a shared piece of artwork that will be displayed at the rec center. The Creativity Lab will remain open with additional hands‑on projects, and attendees will have access to the gym, pool table, air hockey, and foosball. Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel

Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns

Hudson Gardens & Event Center

Visit Hudson Gardens to experience a glowing trail of more than 7,000 magnificent, hand-carved pumpkins. Silent Disco Party

Goodson Recreation Center

South Platte Park

Enjoy South Platte Park after dark for a magical evening of live music, refreshments, and nature-inspired fun. Attendees can take a guided sunset walk through the forest, create an art project, or enjoy special activities in the Carson Nature Center. Learn more and register.

 

Hole-O-Ween

Colorado Journey

Hole-O-Ween is back at Colorado Journey Mini Golf all October! Ghosts, fairies, witches, spiders and more are out to ensure your entire group have a frighteningly good time. Hole-O-Ween provides a fun experience for all visitors, featuring Halloween-themed holes and spooky, kid-friendly decorations. Try Hockey for Free

Oct. 3

South Suburban Sports Complex

Children ages 4-9 are invited for USA Hockey’s annual Try Hockey for Free event on Oct. 3. Aspiring players of all ability levels can learn the basics of hockey in a fun and safe environment. No previous skating or hockey experience is required to participate, and South Suburban will supply players with all necessary hockey equipment. Learn more.

 

Community Tree Recycling Day

Willow Springs Service Center

Need to get rid of large tree limbs? Residents are invited to bring materials for chipping on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8 am-12:30 pm at Willow Spring Service Center (7100 S. Holly St.). Bring in tree limbs, branches, firewood, logs, or dead shrubs. Limbs/branches/logs must be no larger than 6’ long and 24” diameter. Trick-or-Treat Street

Candy, costumes, games, and more! Take a stroll through the annual Trick-or-Treat Street for family-friendly Halloween fun. The event takes place outdoors in the back parking lot of the Goodson Recreation Center. Learn more and register.

Celebrate Halloween with live music and food and drink specials at South Suburban Golf Course. Don’t forget to dress up for the costume contest!

 

Drop-In Spooky Skate

Dress up and drop by Family Sports Center or the Sports Complex for ice skating to kid-friendly tunes, a costume contest for fun prizes, and sweet treats.
 

Pumpkin Plunge

Buck Recreation Center

Take a plunge to find your perfect pumpkin. Swimmers of all ages are invited to dive for pumpkins in the Buck Recreation Center pool and turn them into spooky masterpieces at our decoration station. Learn more and register.
 

Hoofin’ It Through the Hollows 5K

This race is scary fun! Join us for a Halloween celebration at the Hoofin’ It Through the Hollows 5K. Dress to impress for the pre-race costume contest and stick around for the post-race beer garden and s’mores. Register for the race.

Before heading out to trick-or-treat, swing by the Carson Nature Center during the day to discover the fascinating creatures that call the South Platte River ecosystem home.
