South Suburban is planning a new recreation complex, which is
proposed to include a fieldhouse with two synthetic turf fields and two gymnasiums with Pickleball
courts, two or three sheets of ice and district administration offices. The project will replace the
South Suburban Ice Arena and the South Suburban Administration Office.
The new facility will be nearly 200,000 square-feet. It will be built
just southwest of East County Line Road, and South Holly Street. The
complex is expected to open in December 2020. The estimated project cost
is $50 million.
South Suburban hosted public input meetings on the new facility in September and October. For questions or comments, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Construction is anticipated to start in spring 2019, and the recreation complex is expected to open in 2020.
