Monday, Sep 7

Labor Day in the Park
Grab a blanket, a picnic, your Frisbee and the dog. Maybe even rent one of our picnic equipment packages. Celebrate the three-day weekend with a South Suburban Labor Day staycation (and avoid all that holiday traffic).
Who: All ages
When:  6 am – 11 pm
Where:  Any South Suburban park
Price: Free
Have a big group? Rent a shelter or field.

Tuesday, Sep 8

Red Dress: Public Art Dedication
We are dedicating a new piece of public art, and you are invited! The Red Dress by sculptor Shihoni Ghosh will adorn the beautiful Hudson Gardens. Come meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments.

When:  4:30 – 5:00 pm
Where:  The Hudson Gardens Event Center

Become a Naturalist – River Ecology
Make your time in nature more meaningful by discovering how to read the tracks, plants, and landscape. These session with a professional naturalist includes hands-on activities, hikes and in-the-field experiences.

Public Hearing for our Proposed 2016 Budget
Now is your chance to weigh in on South Suburban’s budget for next year. Citizens will have an opportunity to address the Board regarding requests for new programs or facilities or improvements to existing facilities, parks, trails and open space. Learn more...

Drop-in Basketball
Be active during your lunch. Come in and shoot hoops, practice your skills or invite a few friends for a pickup game.

Power Hour Fitness
Improve muscle tone, strength and endurance. You'll use a variety of equipment in this intense workout that's sure to kickoff your Friday just right.

Friday Walk-About
Enjoy walking but can't get motivated without a partner? This weekly walking group will walk every Friday morning choosing a daily destination from the many area trails. Come explore some of the hidden foot paths in the Denver area.
Who: Older active adults
When:  8- 11 am
Where:  Windy Saddle Park
Price: $8 Senior Resident; $10 Senior Nonresident

Puppy Paddle & Wag N’ Romp
Our pools are going to the dogs! Treat your pooch to some tail waggin’ fun in the sun as we close the pool season with these annual favorites. The Puppy Paddle is at Holly Pool in Centennial and the Wag N’ Romp is at Cook Creek Pool in Lone Tree.
Who: Our canine pals
When:  10 am – 2 pm
Where:  Holly Pool (Puppy Paddle), Cook Creek Pool (Wag N’ Romp)
Price: The Puppy Paddle is $7 ($8 Sep 11-12)  for the first dog and $2 for each add’tl dog. Wag N’ Romp is free and donations to the dog rescue are welcome.

Super STAR 2-Mile Fun Run
Support our STAR Program for people with disabilities and run in this 2-mile fun run. The event is for runners and athletes of all abilities with an accessible course. Be creative and dress up as your favorite super star, celebrity or hero.
