Public Meetings and Update on South Suburban Ice Arena Master Plan Study

Jan 27 2016

After reviewing public feedback and working with a team of consultants, Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture is completing the master plan study for the South Suburban Ice Arena.

You are invited to attend a public information meeting on Tuesday, February 2 at 5:30 pm at the South Suburban Ice Arena. Additionally, the Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 10 at 7 pm at the Goodson Recreation Center.

The cost of the improvements identified in the study ranges from $12-15 million and exceeds the District’s capability to fund at this time.

In 2016, South Suburban will undergo a District-wide master plan, strategic plan, and financial planning process, in which our residents will be invited to participate. The combination of these plans, along with the South Suburban Ice Arena master plan study, will assist in determining the next steps for the facility.

Providing ice and ice related programs to the community is a high priority for South Suburban Parks and Recreation.  The District is dedicated to being a good steward of your tax dollars. Thank you for your patience and support while additional information is gathered.
