Temporary Art Exhibits at South Suburban locations in September 2018

Each month, the South Suburban Public Art Committee selects local artists to display their work at South Suburban recreation centers and selects one artist quarterly for an exhibit at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. Art displays at these facilities are intended to support and promote South Suburban's mission to enrich the lives of all its residents and encourage a legacy of art to be enjoyed and appreciated.
Name: Halley VanDeroef
Medium: Mixed Media
Collection: Halley is a 2018 graduate of East Elementary School in Littleton and her exhibit contains her work done as an art student there. She works in oils, pastels, watercolors, clay and other mediums.

Name: Shilpa Gadgil
Residence: Highlands Ranch
Collection: Madhubani and Warlitribal art from the country of India is Shilpa’s specialty using acrylics and canvas. Her Wari style is from the west coast of India and features tribal people and their day to day life. And her Madhubani is from northern India and displays mythology with the use of colorful interpretations of nature.

Collection: Arturo calls his colorful display of oil paintings TATANKA: The Spirit of the Land, an exhibit about the life of the American bison, its habitat, history and culture. Read more about it on Arturo’s website.

Name: Pat Geonetta
Residence: Colorado Springs
Collection: Pat’s pastel landscapes on sand paper are of Colorado iconic places such as Coors Field, Hanging Lake, the Blue River in Silverthorne, the water feature grate in Aspen and a couple of golf courses around the state. She also included two small oils of Raku pottery.
