Need to get rid of large tree limbs? Residents are invited to bring materials for chipping on Saturday, October 4 from 8 am-12:30 pm at Willow Spring Service Center (7100 S. Holly St.). Tree limbs, branches, firewood, logs, dead shrubs limbs/branches/logs must be no larger than 6’ long and 24” diameter.

Each year, South Suburban closes its recreation centers to deep clean and make improvements. While your local center is closed, passes and punches may be used at any other South Suburban recreation center.
South Suburban launched a new Comprehensive Vision, Strategic, and Facility Plan for The Hudson Gardens & Event Center. This plan will guide the botanical gardens’ priorities and vision for the next 10 years. It includes technical and financial analysis, as well as strategic planning for sustainability and enjoyment for generations to come.
South Suburban Parks and Recreation has selected Andy Bass to be its next executive director. Bass’ experience in leading parks and recreation departments, as well as high-ranking municipal positions, made him the top candidate and ideal fit for the organization.
