South Suburban Board of Directors Application Open

South Suburban will begin the process of filling one vacant position on the Board of Directors, due to the passing of former board member, David Lawful. The selected candidate will fill the remainder of his term (2025). Applications must be completed by June 6, 2023, at 5 pm.

The application will be used by the current board members to identify and evaluate potential board candidates. Director vacancies are appointed by a majority vote of current board members, pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute 32-1-905(2).

Board Member Qualifications:

To qualify as a member of the Board of Directors, a person must be registered to vote in Colorado and either (a) a resident of the SSPRD District; or (b) a person who, or whose spouse or civil union partner, owns taxable real or personal property situated within the boundaries of the District, whether such person resides within the District or not. A person who is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property situated within the boundaries of the District shall be considered an owner under the statute, although special rules may apply when qualifying a director in this fashion.
