South Suburban launches new website and registration system

South Suburban launched a new digital look today, October 20, including a modern website (ssprd.org) and mobile-friendly registration platform. Both feature easy-to-use navigation, while the cloud-based software, hosted by CivicRec, features an intuitive class and program registration process.

New virtual fitness class pass launches August 23

Workout with your favorite instructors from the comfort of your home with South Suburban’s new virtual fitness class pass.

With 16 options throughout the week, you can choose your favorites or try something new. Classes include the slow-paced practice of Yin Yoga, a heart-healthy Active Adult Cardio, the holistic blend of dance and martial arts called Nia, and many more. Of course, you can always liven up your living room workout with Zumba or Zumba Gold.

First Public Hearing on South Suburban's 2021 Budget

South Suburban Parks and Recreation (SSPR) will hold the first public hearing on its 2021 budget on Wednesday, August 26, at 7 p.m. at the Goodson Recreation Center. The Board of Directors will outline SSPR's major goals and priorities for next year, and citizens can provide input on desired projects and budget priorities. Masks are required to enter the facility.

Buck Recreation Center Closure Update

On Friday, July 10, a fire occurred on the roof of the Buck Recreation Center. Fortunately, there were no injuries and only minimal structural damage to the facility. However, smoke damage is prevalent, forcing the recreation center to be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
